Mt. San Jacinto

San Jacinto Peak boasts an elevation of 10,834 feet. Mount Jacinto State Park lies within the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument - the peaks are rugged and majestic!

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway provides easy access to the park - taking you from 2,643 feet in elevation to 8,516 in 10 minutes!  The floor rotates, everyone enjoys the view.   It is a little freaky feeling.

We hiked the Desert View Trail - it has incredible views of the Coachella Valley.

The view from Notch #2 - Palm Springs.

There was snow in spots on the trail - not a lot left.   On weekends the tram is crowded with kids going up to play in the snow - the towns in the valley never get snow.

There is an adventure center where you can rent snow shoes,  cross country skis,  sleds and tubes ... no thanks.

View from another notch.

Hiking the trail.

Cool stuff in the forest.

The view of the valley at night was incredible!  This picture doesn't do it justice - there were millions is twinkling lights!
