For generations, the Navajo have grown crops and herded sheep in Monument Valley.
I don't know if these are sheep or goats ... or what???
Breath taking!!!!
The scenes may look familiar – many movies have been shot here – John Wayne - Stage Coach, Forrest Gump ... something with a yellow ribbon.
Elephant Butte - can you see the nose and two eyes and ears?????
Monument Valley Navajo Tribal park is 30,000 acres – wind and rain have carved the mammoth red sandstone monoliths into really cool formations. The monoliths rise hundreds of feet above the desert floor like sentinels, frozen in time – unchanged for centuries.
Tom looks awfully small. He found just the rock for Santo.
This is a Navajo Taco - WOW
Joey would love it!!!!!
Chimichangaaaaaaaaaa!!!
It was a hole in the wall - from the outside you would never set foot inside. But the inside was cute - nicely decorated and had funny books at the table to pass the time while waiting for your food which wasn't long - like how to know if you're a Geezer. Homemade chips and salsa while you wait.
It was listed in the Fodor's Guide - excellent!!!!
Sunset - see the mittens????
Where will the road take us tomorrow????
Canyonlands ... Arches ... Mesa Verde ... Moab ....
