The Columbia River runs between Washington and Oregon. Many beautiful pull-offs and recreation areas are along the way.
There were actually people climing to the top - yikes!
The other benefit of traveling through the Columbia River Valley was the fruit stands on the Oregon side. We had tomatoes, watermelon, cantelope, cherries and white donut peaches - all were delicious.
We thought we would find more fruit stands on the way home; but sadly, no.

Best Buy to the rescue
... I really didn't want to leave the air-conditioned store - they could solve both of my problems!!!
This is the quaint little town where I sat in the truck in the shade and downloaded the programs I needed to do the bulletin :)
It really wasn't that bad - the hardest part was getting a strong enough signal to send the files.
(Thank you Jess, Jenn & Joe for your flexible pioneering spirits!!!)
